Good article, I would add one very important point about the direct sale. There are tools today that you can measure this pretty effectively, especially when it comes to repeat visits.

Can you trace your social media effort into more sales, more customers, or engagement with current customers?

All the above are good measurements of success in a campaign but don't get to what I find most businesses want...

Does it help drive sales? What is this, what will it do for me, how to integrate it into my daily business?
